Statement from SPS - Lockdown Lifted at Stamford High School

Earlier today, Stamford High went on lockdown after a new staff member reported to the Stamford Police Department that they saw someone with a gun in the south parking lot. The individual in the parking lot was quickly identified as a Stamford High School Resource Officer who was reporting to work.

We recognize that this incident created concern among families and in our school community. Stamford Public Schools staff are trained to be vigilant about safety, and their vigilance is understandable. We apologize for any alarm or inconvenience that resulted from this incident.
