MAYOR SIMMONS RELEASES STATEMENT ON HATE LITERATURE

STAMFORD, CT – Today, Mayor Simmons released a statement regarding the hate literature that was placed on residents’ driveways in the Pepper Ridge-Springdale area of Stamford over the weekend:

“The City of Stamford has a zero tolerance for hate speech against any person or group, whether it is based on race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, country of origin, gender identity or any other affiliation, and we vehemently condemn this disturbing behavior in our community.

Ensuring residents feel safe after this unsettling behavior is our top priority. The Stamford Police Department is actively investigating this behavior and we encourage residents with any information regarding this matter to call the non-emergency police number at (203)-977-4444.”
