Please arrive early and allow time for processing.

Recycling, garbage, and yard waste accepted. Must have residential (passenger) license plates.
All commercial vehicles, pickups, cars with trailers, rental trucks, and vehicles with combination or commercial plates are required to dump a the Scale House.

Directions

From East Main Street, drive south on Myrtle Avenue to Jefferson Street, then turn left on Magee Avenue. The recycling center is on your left.
From Tresser Boulevard, drive south on Canal Street, then turn left on Jefferson Street, then right on Magee Avenue. The recycling center is on your left.

Monday through Saturday

- You may bring up to 200lbs of material per day in a passenger vehicle, free. If you have over 200lbs you will be charged $6.15 per 100 pounds of additional weight.
- Fees are $123 per ton. $12 for items with Freon: Refrigerators, A/C's, and dehumidifiers. $10 per tire.
- The residential dumping area closes at 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. You must be in line no less than 30 minutes prior to Scale House closing.
The following materials are not accepted for disposal: chemicals, hazardous waste, Liquids, and oil-based paint/thinner, paint, etc. Find out where to dispose of these items.

Scofield Recycling Events.

City of Stamford will be collecting bulky waste, recycling, yard waste and electronics at 55 Rock Rimmon Road on select dates. The events run from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The recycling event is open only for Stamford residents. Items accepted at these events: Recycling, Bulky Waste, Electronics, Yard Waste, Textiles/clothing, Food Waste, bottles/cans for deposits.
