Absentee Ballot (AB) Application

In CT, voters need to provide a valid reason to qualify for an Absentee Ballot (AB):  Military, absence from town, sickness, religious tenets forbid secular activity on the day of the election, duties as an election official at a polling place other than your own, or physical disability. 

You must mark one of the reasons provided on the AB application form.


Request an Absentee Ballot

  • Absentee Ballot Application Form.
  • Absentee Ballot Application Portal.
  • Call 203.977.5280 to request an AB application; please provide your name and address when you leave a message.

Return your application to:

  • One of the ballot boxes (see below for locations).                        
  • Or mail to: Town Clerk, 888 Washington Blvd., Stamford, CT 06901.
  • Electronic applications are not acceptable.

 

Ballot Boxes

  • In the parking garage in the Government Center.
  • At Harry Bennett Library (Vine Rd).

 The boxes are accessible 24 hours a day.

 

Voting from Abroad

You can submit an AB application from abroad here: https://www.fvap.gov

This form can also be used to Register to Vote. Voters from Abroad can receive their ballot electronically, but the ballot needs to be returned by mail or courier.
