Search Stamford Land Record Documents:

All transactions involving land situated in Stamford must be recorded in the Town Clerk's Office. This includes, but is not limited to: deeds, mortgages, attachments, liens, judgments, tax liens, assessments, conveyances, maps, planning & zoning, and other miscellaneous legal documents pertaining to land use.

The Town Clerk records and keeps permanent documentation and indexing of all transactions. Land Records are available online dating back to mid 2001. We’ll add additional years as our resources allow.

Land records vault is open to the public during normal business hours 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. M-F.


The basic fees, set by State Law, for land recording and copies are as follows:

Recording: $60 first page; $5 each additional page
Copies: $1 per page in our office
Certification: $2 per document
MERS recordings:
$159 first page
Conveyance surcharge:
$2 for consideration over $2,000.00
Maps: $20 each
Maps of subdivisions of 3 or more parcels:
$30 each


Conveyance Tax Information

  • City and State Conveyance Taxes are due when recording a document.
  • City conveyance tax for Stamford is .0035 of sales price up to $999,999.99.
  • City conveyance tax is .0050 above $1,000,000.00.
