When a Snow Emergency is declared, information is made available on the City's homepage, social media accounts and E-Subscribe list. Residents can also find up to date information on Snow Emergencies by following Stamford CT Public Safety on twitter.

Snow Removal

The City will start preparing for winter storm events by monitoring weather reports. Winter storm elements such as duration, strength, and timing are all crucial to predict and prepare for snow removal.  For more information on snow removal, Click Here.

Some city facilities may be closed due to snow. Please check the city website or social media pages to see if city services or facilities are operational during a winter event.

Contact Information

Call Citizen's Services at 203-977-4140 during normal business hours with questions.  After hours, call the Police Dept non-emergency number at 203-977-4444. Citizen's Services handles calls regarding issues with plowing, potholes, downed trees, and other operational issues.  Emergencies, including downed wires, should be reported directly to 9-1-1.  Call the City of Stamford Emergency Hotline at 203-977-8840 for recorded emergency information, and stay tuned to local media for weather reports and warnings.
