Every Child Matters is a program that was created in 2000 to ensure that all eligible uninsured children and parents in Stamford are enrolled in a health insurance program. In 2013, after the Affordable Care Act was signed into law and Access Health Connecticut became the new insurance market place in Connecticut, its services were expanded to include eligible uninsured and underinsured Stamford adults. Its vision is to ensure that eligible uninsured and underinsured children, families and single adults in Stamford have access to affordable health coverage through Access Health Connecticut. Through education and advocacy, Every Child Matters provides Stamford citizens with tools and support to be self-sufficient, empower their families and advocate for themselves.
“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”
