Uniform Relocation Assistance Program

The purpose of the Uniform Relocation Assistance program is to establish a uniform policy in accordance with Connecticut General State Statue…for the fair and equitable treatment of persons displaced from residential rental properties by the City of Stamford code enforcement activities.

Program Services

Determine eligibility for relocation assistance.
Work with landlords and eligible tenants to find alternate emergency and/or permanent housing.
Assist tenants with school aged children apply for permission to keep children in the same school.
Work with landlords and eligible tenants to cover related relocation expenses.
When applicable, place and release relocation liens.

Basic Eligibility Requirements

Must be displaced and referred by a City of Stamford Department that has code enforcement authority.
Tenant must be a renter.
Tenant must be able to show proof of tenancy for at least 90 days prior to being displaced.
