Volunteers ‘WOW’ Stamford town clerk, come out in droves to help with voluminous ballot applications
So many Stamford residents are requesting mail-in ballots to vote in the Nov. 3 presidential election that the town clerk, who processes them, had to make space a few floors up from her lobby-level office and move the operation there.

Historic preservation has been a priority for City and Town Clerk Lyda Ruijter. Using a state grant, she hired a professional consultant several years ago to help sift through volumes that had been kept in an abandoned former police building on Haig Avenue in Springdale.

Stamford piano series brings music to the people
The idea for Piano For The People came from Yury Feygin, the owner of Amadeus Piano. He contacted Stamford Town Clerk Lyda Ruijter, with whom he has organized the Music In The Park series at Czescik Marina Park in the past, and told her about his idea of temporarily placing one of his pianos inside the government building. He told her, “In your building we need some air, we need some light, some not-so-serious thoughts,” Ruijter recalled.

 The electors of the 36th Senatorial District in the City of Stamford, are hereby warned to meet at their respective polling places on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, for the purpose of casting their votes for State Senator to fill vacancy for the 36th Senatorial District.
