Mill River Park was awarded in 2018 as one of the Great Places in America by the American Planning Association. The 14-acre park is operated by the Mill River Park Collaborative and includes greenways with bike and pedestrian paths, a performance space, a pavilion with a carousel, patio, and bake shop, as well as a recently opened ice skating rink and fountain. The next phase of the park includes extending the park down to the South End shoreline, as well as up to the Merrit Parkway with bicycle and pedestrian paths.
