This newsletter is compiled by Mayor Simmons’ Administration to provide Stamford residents with information about critical updates on city services, state programs and community activities. Mayor's Office Update

  • Mayor Simmons celebrated two state announcements that the city has secured major capital investments:
    • State Bonding for $5 million to allow the Stamford Downtown Special Services District to reconstruct the Main Street Garage which includes new walkable and landscaped areas around Main Street.
    • $2 million from the Connecticut Communities Challenge Grant to enhance pedestrian safety at Latham Park
  • Mayor Simmons announced that Springdale Elementary School will benefit from a safety upgrade to construct new sidewalks. Read more here.

     

    Important Information for Stamford Residents

  • More information about the revaluation process can be found here.
  • The Stamford Recycling and Sanitation Holiday schedule can be found here
  • The Stamford Department of Health Flu vaccine clinic is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm every Wednesday until April 30th, 2023. The clinic is located at 137 Henry Street, no appointment needed.

    Paving

  • This year, the City of Stamford has announced the “Pave Stamford,” initiative that seeks to double the amount of road paving and sidewalk restoration done during this budget cycle. Click here to view the Tier 1 paving list.
  • Residents can submit road paving suggestions for the Tier 2 list of the Pave Stamford initiative here.

     

    COVID-19 Updates

    Case Numbers

    Follow the City of Stamford’s Covid-19 Dashboard, which provides the latest up-to-date
    information on COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates in the City.

    Vaccination Sites

  • Friday, December 23rd, 2022:

The vaccination site at Americares (401 Shippan Ave) will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

  • Saturday, December 24th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Americares (401 Shippan Ave) will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

All sites will be closed Christmas Day (December 25th) and December 26th

 12/27-12/29 vaccines are available at the following locations free without an appointment:

  • All Ages
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Tuesday – Appointment Only 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
    • Call (203)-977-5385
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Thursday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
  • Americares (401 Shippan Ave): Tuesday – Thursday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Ferguson Library (Main Branch): Tuesday – Thursday 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

 

  • 1st and 2nd doses are available to all, as well as booster shots for ages 5+ (Pfizer) and 18+ (Moderna/J&J) at all walk up vaccination clinics.

Covid-19 Testing Sites

  • St. Mary’s Church (566 Elm St) testing site will be open at the following times:
  • Monday - Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Beginning January 1, 2023, the state will no longer be covering the cost for uninsured patients. If you are uninsured, you can still receive a test, but you will be charged for the cost of the test. 
  • Accu Reference (689 Canal St) testing site will be open at the following times:
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • This site will be closed as of 12/31/22

Other Resources

  • If you are unable to leave your home or are uncomfortable traveling to a vaccine site, the Stamford Department of Health will bring the vaccine to you. Please call 203-977-4378 or 203-977-4369 to schedule your free in-home COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

City Services

  • The Take it Or Leave it Shop & the Book Swap Shop at Katrina Mygatt are now open:
  • The Take It or Leave It Shop is open on Tuesday & Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • The Book Swap Shop is open on Tuesday & Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
