Mayor's Office Update

  • Mayor Simmons and the Stamford Arts and Culture Commission announced the winners of the 2023 Arts and Culture Grant today, read more here.
  • Mayor Simmons and the City of Stamford have committed to the Vision Zero Initiative. To follow updates on the Vision Zero Initiative, click here.
    • This week Mayor Simmons testified in support of state legislation implementing the Vision Zero Council recommendations. Read more here.
  • Mayor Simmons testified in support of HB 5003 which would make revisions to how public education is funded in Connecticut, including fully funding the Education Cost Sharing (ECS) Grant. Read more here.  

 

Important Information for Stamford Residents

  • The Special Election for the 148th House District will be held on February 28th, 2023. For more information click here.
  • The state of Connecticut’s mandatory revaluation process has been completed. More information about the revaluation process can be found here.
  • The City of Stamford Announces Cold Weather Resources ahead of Cold Weather this Weekend. Click here for more information.
  • The Take It or Leave It Shop and Book Swap will be closed this week due to extreme cold weather.
  • All vendors working with the City, please see the notice posted here.
  • The Stamford Department of Health Flu vaccine clinic is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm every Wednesday until April 30th, 2023. The clinic is located at 137 Henry Street, no appointment needed.

COVID-19 Updates

Case Numbers

information on COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates in the City.

Vaccination Sites

  • Saturday February 4th, 2023:

The vaccination site at Westover School will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Child Guidance Center Vaccine Clinic (401 Shippan Ave) will be open from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

  • Sunday February 5th, 2023:

The vaccination site at Americares (401 Shippan Ave) will be open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

2/6-2/10 vaccines are available at the following locations free without an appointment:

  • All Ages
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Tuesday – Appointment Only 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
    • Call (203)-977-5385
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Monday & Thursday - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Ferguson Library: Monday – Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Americares (401 Shippan): Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 8:00 am -12:00 pm

 

  • 1st and 2nd doses are available to all, as well as booster shots for ages 5+ (Pfizer) and 18+ (Moderna/J&J) at all walk up vaccination clinics.
  • Please visit our website for more information on free pop-up locations throughout the city.

Covid-19 Testing Sites

  • Monday - Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Beginning January 1, 2023, the state will no longer be covering the cost for uninsured patients. If you are uninsured, you can still receive a test, but you will be charged for the cost of the test.

Other Resources

  • If you are unable to leave your home or are uncomfortable traveling to a vaccine site, the Stamford Department of Health will bring the vaccine to you. Please call 203-977-4378 or 203-977-4369 to schedule your free in-home COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
