Stamford Arts & Culture is hosting the first ever

Summer Stage in Scalzi Park

This new program will provide performance opportunities for up to 10 groups over five Sundays this summer from June through August 2022.

Utilizing the City of Stamford’s portable stage set up in Scalzi Park, performing arts organizations can have 45 to 60 minutes to present their program. The goal is to have two organizations or individual performers presenting on each Sunday. Organizations will be selected by random lottery from among all that submit completed applications by the deadline.

There is no charge for the performance space, however, organizations will be required to secure event insurance: $1,000,000 naming the City of Stamford.

Additionally:

Events needing costume changing space would have to supply their own pop-up tents.
Organizations need to provide full sound support: sound system, mics, cables, operator etc. (an electrician will be provided)
If a dance company, they may need to bring in their own flooring - marley or otherwise. The stage deck is 12 feet by 40 feet.
Stamford Arts and Culture Commission will send out a Scalzi Summer Season press release, however, organizations will have to do their own marketing.
