Redistricting Commission

Stamford is made up of twenty voting districts. Voters elect two residents of their district to serve on the Board of Representatives. The district map is reviewed every ten years by a commission made up of eight electors appointed by the Board of Representatives, which reports to the Board of Representatives, as required by City Charter Sec. C1-70-4. That review is in line with the U.S. Census with the goal of ensuring that the number of residents in each district is as evenly distributed as possible.
