Who are we?

The Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) was formed in 1996 to give citizens the ability to report pressing traffic and parking issues directly to the city for action. The Committee is comprised of representatives from various City departments that oversee all aspects of traffic and parking: police, highways department, lines and signs, parking enforcement, citizen services, traffic signals, and fire. In addition to residential concerns.

What do we do?

The Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) ensures that the appropriate management and protection of traffic is adhered to regarding the use of city streets and sidewalks for events, construction, and road and sidewalk closures.

When should you talk to us?

Citizens and residents seeking to appear before the commission should contact Crystal Mitchell at (203) 977-5466 by e-mail, letter or phone or the Stamford Citizens Service Center @ (203) 977-4140, or click to submit online.

We ask residents to give a succinct description of their problem. Residents and applicants are then asked to appear before TAC and make a brief presentation of their concern, request or application. TAC votes on the matter during its meetings and refers applicants and residents to other city departments for sign-offs and approvals.

The meetings are scheduled for the last Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the Training Conference Room, Sixth Floor, Government Center, 888 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, CT 06901.

All meetings are recorded and minutes are taken and filed with the Town Clerk’s Office.
