The City of Stamford has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), 49 CFR Part 26.  It is the policy of the City of Stamford to ensure that DBEs and small businesses have an equal opportunity to receive and participate in DOT–assisted contracts.

Small, Minority and Woman-owned businesses can apply online for DBE certification by visiting the Connecticut Unified Certification Program's (CA UCP) website. The website provides information about the Federal DBE Program as well as detailed instructions for applying online.

The City of Stamford, Connecticut, pursuant to 49 CFR Part 26, has proposed a goal of 2.45% for participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in Department of Transportation (DOT) assisted contracts for the period October 1, 2015 - September 30, 2018.  The proposed goal and its rationale will be available for inspection for 30 days from the publication date of this notice during regular business hours at the City of Stamford Grants Office, 888 Washington Boulevard, 10th Floor, Stamford, CT 06901. The U.S. Department of Transportation and the City of Stamford will accept comments on the proposed goal for 45 days from the date of this notice. The address for the DOT office is Federal Transit Administration, Transportation Systems Center, Kendall Square, 55 Broadway, Suite 920, Cambridge, MA 02142-1093.
