Your City at Work: From the Mayor’s Desk

Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

Two years ago, I was honored to take the oath of office as Stamford's Mayor. On my first day, I laid out a blueprint for building an inclusive and affordable city with a responsive government that creates an environment to advance prosperity and opportunity for all of our communities.

Today, I am pleased to share that Stamford is progressing steadily towards this vision. The city is investing in infrastructure and building a fair economy that is allowing for dynamic growth, enacting responsible budgets which have allowed for financial stability, and taking the steps necessary to remain one of the safest cities in New England. For a detailed review of our accomplishments over the last two years, kindly click here.

Weekly Local Business Spotlight: C.A.R.E Health & Wellness Center

Each week I will highlight one of our incredible small businesses that received one of the 176 Stamford COVID-19 relief grants.

C.A.R.E Health & Wellness Center is an integrated wellness practice that offers services such as chiropractic care, nutritional counseling, personal training, physical therapy, naturopathic medicine, and acupuncture.  They evaluate each client for posture, muscle tone, fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle to create a customized plan to meet a variety of needs and conditions.

Community Non-Profit Spotlight: Pollinator Pathway Stamford

Each week I will highlight an invaluable local initiative that received one of the 21 Mayor’s Micro-Grants.

  • Mission: To create a corridor of safe habitats for birds, bees, butterflies and other pollinators that extends across our city and into other towns. Our goal is to make Stamford’s private, commercial and city spaces pesticide free and safe for pollinators.
  • Project Funding Purpose: To support the installation of pollinator gardens at Chestnut Hill, Cove Island and Kosciuszko Parks.
