In case you missed it, please take a look at our two-year report that was released earlier this month to see the work we have done together on behalf of the City of Stamford to promote vibrant growth, secure a sound fiscal footing, and ensure that we remain one of the safest cities in New England. Weekly Local Business Spotlight: Art of Control

Each week I will highlight one of our incredible small businesses that received one of the 176 Stamford COVID-19 relief grants.

Art of Control, a traditional Pilates studio, held their ribbon cutting last week for their new location at the Stamford Town Center. Their two Stamford locations, the original is at 1177 Summer Street, offer classes and private lessons that improve posture, increase muscle tone, relieve stress, and improve balance among other health benefits. Executive Director and owner, Simona Cipriani has been a Pilates instructor for 30 years and also runs certification programs for teachers in the US and internationally.

Community Non-Profit Spotlight: The Saw Mill Association

Each week I will highlight an invaluable local initiative that received one of the 21 Mayor’s Micro-Grants.

  • Mission: The Saw Mill Association ("SMA") strives to build a strong community by providing a forum for sharing information, connecting neighbors, promoting activities and fostering civic involvement in our wonderful neighborhood.
  • Project Funding Purpose: Funding was awarded to support tree planting efforts.
