Post Date:01/09/2024 5:36 PM

A strong rain and wind event is expected overnight tonight with winds forecast of 20-40mph and gusts up to 65mph.  There is currently a High Wind Warning, a Flood Watch, and a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from this evening into Wednesday.

Stamford residents may experience downed trees and power lines due to high winds and saturated ground.

The strongest winds are expected from 10PM to 4AM. If you don't need to drive overnight, residents are encouraged to stay home.

If you have an emergency dial 911. Treat every downed line as if it were live and stay away. Do not remove barricades or barrier tape. Do not drive through flooded areas or over downed lines.
