Your City at Work: From the Mayor’s Desk

Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

The FY24-25 City of Stamford budget season is underway! Right now, we are reviewing each city department’s operating budgets to ensure we are investing in my administration’s key priorities, while also maintaining sound fiscal responsibility.

As part of our effort to ensure Stamford remains one of the safest cities in our region, we are enhancing investments in public safety in this year’s budget. My budget presentation is on Wednesday, March 6th. Stay tuned for more information about how to watch the presentation and attend future public hearings during the budget process.

Weekly Local Business Spotlight: Carpentry Unlimited Inc

Each week I will highlight one of our incredible small businesses that received one of the 176 Stamford COVID-19 relief grants.

Carpentry Unlimited Inc. can tackle any home construction project such as building new homes, carpentry services, remodeling bathrooms and kitchens, and doing home additions. They have been in business for 35 years and serve most of Fairfield County. They work closely with the homeowners throughout the process and are committed to the highest quality workmanship.

MAYOR’S UPDATES

  • Connecticut General Assembly 2024 Session Opening Day: I attended the Connecticut General Assembly's Opening Day of the 2024 Regular Session this past Wednesday. The work that kicked off in Hartford will have a real impact on communities across Stamford. Since taking office, I have been proud to advocate in Hartford and call for additional resources for our city and support key legislation that improves the lives of residents. On behalf of the City of Stamford, I’m grateful for the continued work and dedication of our state delegation in both the State House and State Senate. I will continue to work alongside them to support policies that deliver for residents and build a fairer and more sustainable future for Stamford. In this session, I’m committed to protecting and expanding our education funding, promoting affordable childcare, and ensuring equal opportunities for our students.

The Cingari Family business has served the Stamford community for nearly 100 years and their warmth and care for their customers is evident across all 12 stores throughout Connecticut.
