Your City at Work: From the Mayor’s Desk

Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

My FY2024-2025 budget is an investment in improving the quality of life experienced by all of our residents. It maintains our ongoing commitment to responsible fiscal management which will allow us to secure our financial future while still delivering the programs and services our residents deserve.

My budget proposes:

  • A budget that allows the Board Finance to lower the mill rate to 24.14 mills (one of the lowest in the state)
  • An expansion of the Senior Property Tax Credit
  • Holding the Personal Property and Motor Vehicle Mill Rates Flat

As the budget cycle continues, I will be sharing a series of highlights from my proposed budget priorities, with a focus on investments in roads, sidewalks, and infrastructure projects, parks, public safety, and affordable housing.

Roads & Sidewalks

To further our ‘Pave Stamford’ Initiative goal of paving 200 roads by 2025, I proposed $10.2 million in funding for road paving this year and $1.5 million to repair city sidewalks.
