West Main Street Bridge Community Outreach

WMB Mayor

This week, my team and I continued our community outreach and engagement regarding the West Main Street Bridge. It was great to speak to residents and business owners and to hear firsthand what they would like to see happen with the bridge. We also discussed how we will continue to prioritize investments in our community’s infrastructure, including our roads, sidewalks, and parks.

Governor Lamont Visit and HB 5041 "An Act Concerning Home Energy Affordability"

AHC

On Monday, I joined Office of Governor Ned Lamont, Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Katie Dykes, Caroline Vary from Rose Management, State Representative David Michel, and State Representative Hubert Delany, to highlight support for the Governor’s bill, HB 5041, “An Act Concerning Home Energy Affordability.

This bill seeks to provide transparency for new homeowners and renters by requiring property listings to include a home energy label. We know that energy bills are often one of the highest costs that families have to face and low-income households disproportionally carry this burden. I’m eager to work with Governor Lamont and Commissioner Dykes to ensure this bill gets passed so that we can protect and put more control in the hands of consumers so that energy costs are more affordable.

Ukraine Solidarity Rally

Slave Ukr

I was honored to stand in solidarity with Stamford’s Ukrainian-American community as we continue to stand united against Russian aggression and the illegal invasion of Ukraine this week. We will continue to do all we can as a City to work with community and faith leaders to provide assistance to Ukrainians in Stamford and abroad.

Lunch with Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo

 Mayor + Fred

I had a great lunch Wednesday with my former legislative colleague Greenwich First Selectman, Fred Camillo. We discussed ways our municipalities can partner on critical issues including infrastructure improvements and making Stamford and Greenwich more bike and pedestrian friendly.

Stamford High Women's History Month Celebration

 SHS Mayor

It was a pleasure to join Stamford High students Tuesday morning for a panel in honor of Women’s History Month. I was inspired by the thoughtful questions and discussion we had and I am excited to see what these students pursue as they continue on their academic career. Thank you to the students, faculty, and Principal Forker for putting together this event!

As we move beyond my first 100 days in office, my team and I continue to work towards achieving the goals laid out by our policy committees. I will continue to share and provide brief updates each to you all, so that you can see and hear how your local government is serving you, key developments that will impact residents and how our city operates, critical announcements in the fight against COVID-19 and our efforts to ensure we recover in a responsible and sustainable way. This is just one platform where I will be sharing updates on a weekly basis, but you can also connect with me and my administration on the platforms below:

And of course, I will be out and about across the city every week visiting with local businesses, meeting with constituents, and hearing from stakeholders in our city – so I hope I’ll be able to talk to you in person very soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!
