Citywide Day of Action

DOA 1DOA 2DOA 3

My team and I were excited to participate in United Way of Western Connecticut’s 2022 Day of Action this past Tuesday! More than 150 volunteers gave back to eight local nonprofits across the city. We helped to repaint the basketball court at Drotar Park in Springdale!

Building off our Day of Action, we want to invite you to join us and Full Court Peace in the repainting of Scalzi Park's basketball court on June 26th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Volunteers can sign up here or email Aaron Miller (amiller1@stamfordct.gov) to sign up.

Strawberry Hill and 5th Street Construction

 strawberry hill

The Strawberry Hill Avenue and Fifth Street Reconstruction Project will be breaking ground on Wednesday, June 22nd. The project will widen certain portions of Fifth Street and Strawberry Hill Avenue to improve traffic operations around the new Strawberry Hill School. Additionally, crosswalks and sidewalks in the area will be enhanced.

Drivers should plan for extra travel time and use caution and slow down in work zones.

Visit to Rogers School

 Bottle Top

I was excited to join students at Rogers School for the Million Bottle Cap Challenge Assembly. The Million Bottle Cap Challenge was conceived by SoundWaters in partnership with Stamford Public Schools to engage students in a project which works to address the problem of micro plastics in Long Island Sound. Students will design and make a useful product with the plastics they collect, while also protecting our environment!

March for Our Lives Rally

Last weekend, I was inspired by how many people showed up to the Stamford March for Our Lives Rally. I am inspired by the announcement made by a bipartisan group of senators, led by Senator Chris Murphy and Senator Richard Blumenthal, who came to an agreement on a historic framework for gun violence prevention.

This is just the first step, and we know there are those who will not join our cause, but I stand ready to fight alongside our elected leaders to make these reforms a reality.

Thank you to our Senators and Connecticut's five U.S. Representatives who continually support these critical measures. Most importantly, thank you to the residents, activists, and organizations, including CT Against Gun Violence, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Sandy Hook Promise and countless others who never stopped advocating for change. Let's make this happen.

This is just one platform where I will be sharing updates on a weekly basis, but you can also connect with me and my administration on the platforms below:
And of course, I will be out and about across the city every week visiting with local businesses, meeting with constituents, and hearing from stakeholders in our city – so I hope I’ll be able to talk to you in person very soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!
