This newsletter is compiled by Mayor Simmons’ Administration to provide Stamford residents with information about critical updates on city services, state programs and community activities. If you have information that should be included in this newsletter — or believe some information is incorrect — please contact the City's Communications Staff

Exciting News from the Mayor's Office

  • The Connecticut Child Tax Rebate is now accepting applications. Please click here to learn more and apply.
  • Join the City of Stamford and Full Court Peace on July 2nd from 10:00 am – 2:00pm to repaint the basketball court at Scalzi Park. Please click here to sign up or email Aaron Miller (amiller1@stamfordct.gov) to sign up for a shift.

Important Information for Stamford Residents

  • Taxes bills have been released, view the notice here.
  • Stamford households can order an additional 12 at-home COVID-19 test kits. Orders can be placed here.
  • Residents can submit road paving suggestions for the Tier 2 list of the “Pave Stamford” initiative here.

COVID-19 Updates

Case Numbers: Follow the City of Stamford’s Covid-19 Dashboard, which provides the latest up-to-date information on COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates in the City.

Vaccination: The Center for Disease Control (CDC) expanded eligibility of booster doses to those 12 to 15 years old.

  • Friday, June 24th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Scalzi Park will be open from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The vaccination site will be open at Cummings Beach from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. The Henry Street vaccination clinic is open from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.

  • Saturday, June 25th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Westover School will be open from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The vaccination site at Cummings Beach will be open from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. The Scalzi Park site will be open from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The Faith Tabernacle site will be open from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, and the Lione Park site will be open from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.

  • Sunday, June 26th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Scalzi Park site will be open from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Cove and West Beach Vaccine Tents will be open from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Cummings Park vaccination site will be open from 9:30am – 3:30 pm.

Next week, 6/27– 6/30 vaccines are available at the following locations free without an appointment:

  • All Ages
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Monday & Wednesday: 8:30 – 3:00 pm
  • Scalzi Park: Monday & Thursday 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Cummings Park: Monday & Thursday 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • 1st and 2nd doses are available to all, as well as booster shots for ages 12+ (Pfizer) and 18+ (Moderna/J&J) at all walk up vaccination clinics.

Covid-19 Testing Sites

  • St. Mary’s Church (566 Elm St) testing site will be open at the following times:
  • Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Accu Reference (689 Canal St) testing site will be open at the following times:
  • Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Other Resources

  • If you are unable to leave your home or are uncomfortable traveling to a vaccine site, the Stamford Department of Health will bring the vaccine to you. Please call 203-977-4378 or 203-977-4369 to schedule your free in-home COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

City Services

  • The Take it Or Leave it Shop and the Book Swap Shop are now open:
  • The Take It or Leave It Shop is open on Tuesday & Friday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • The Book Swap is open on Tuesday & Saturday from 11:00 am -1:00 pm
  • The Scofield Special Collection (55 Rock Rimmon Rd) will be held from 8:00 am-2:00 pm on July 9th, August 6th, September 10th and October 1st
  • The Hazardous Waste Collection event will be held at Rippowam on July 16th, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

  • The Stamford Recycling Department has released its Spring Recycling and Sanitation Newsletter, click here to view.
  • The Building One Community has released its Skills Development Program, click here to view.
  • Meet Mill River Weekend will occur this weekend. For a schedule of events click here.
  • The Miles Make Smiles Community Walk Events for Mental Well-Being kickoff will be held Wednesday, July 6th at 5:00 pm in Cove Island Park.
