East Side Citizens Service Hub

On Monday, my team and I held a Citizens Service Hub on the East Side at Casa Villa Restaurant. Thank you to everyone who came out, the East Side Partnership, and Casa Villa! It was great to hear about the issues that matter most to residents and feedback about how we can make government work better for our community.

Dr. Joyce Yerwood Way

I was honored to join community leaders and the family of Dr. Joyce Yerwood on Tuesday, to celebrate her life and legacy and unveil the street renaming near Fairfield Avenue and West Main Street.

Dr. Yerwood was a trailblazer and made such an impact in our community and I am thrilled that we can keep her legacy alive through this, as well as the mural painting at the Yerwood Center.

Peruvian Independence Day

Last Sunday was a beautiful day to join community leaders and the Peruvian American Community Center of Connecticut for the 31st flag raising ceremony in celebration of Peruvian Independence Day this week. Stamford has a vibrant Peruvian community and a rich heritage that was celebrated through dancing and singing.

Thank you to Willy Giraldo for organizing this event and for his service to our City. I was honored to also share a proclamation celebrating the life of his brother Jose Felipe Giraldo Abarca and all his contributions to our community.

Bethel AME Vaccine Clinic @ Hatchfield Park on 8/13

On Saturday, August 13th, there will be a free vaccination clinic at Hatchfield Park hosted by Bethel A.M.E. Church from 12:00 - 5:00 pm.

If you have a health insurance card and photo ID, please bring them, however no one will be turned away from receiving the vaccine if you do not have insurance or a photo ID.
