Protecting the public safety, health, and welfare of Stamford residents is one of my top priorities and achieving these goals starts with having a talented and committed team.

That is why I am excited to announce Lou DeRubeis as the next Director of Public Safety, Health, and Welfare for the City of Stamford. Lou brings 25 years of law enforcement experience, with expertise in emergency response management, community policing, and cross departmental collaboration.

I am also excited to announce that Reverend Winton Hill will join my administration as a Public Safety Liaison. Community engagement and outreach is a critical pillar to public safety and we have a unique opportunity to strengthen communication and better share the story of public safety in Stamford and what that means for residents.

I am confident that the skillset and expertise that Lou DeRubeis and Reverend Hill bring to these roles - working in partnership with the men and women in law enforcement, fire, EMS, health, and social services departments - will ensure we are well prepared with the policies and protocols in place to promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of Stamford residents.

It was wonderful to join colleagues and community leaders for GOPIO's flag raising ceremony and celebration in honor of India's 75th Independence Day.

Stamford has a rich and vibrant Indian-American community who contribute so much to our City. Thank you GOPIO for your continued advocacy and work in Stamford and throughout the state

Last weekend marked the grand opening of the Stamford Police Activities League at the Chester Addison Center, as well as the first library branch to open in over 20 years on the West Side! PAL and the programming it will provide, along with the Ferguson Library, will touch so many lives and be a valuable resource for Stamford youth.

Thank you to the Stamford Police Department CT, The Ferguson Library, Beacon Properties, and our local officials for their partnership and advocacy which resulted in moving this project forward.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped at this year’s Back to School Shop at Davenport Ridge Elementary School last weekend! The Back to School Shop provides elementary school children in our community with brand new clothing and school supplies to help build the confidence and enthusiasm they need for a successful start to the school year.

 Stamford Hospital

Congratulations to Stamford Health for being the only hospital in Connecticut to concurrently receive these ratings, which highlight their commitment to the highest standard of quality, safety, and experience for patients!

Thank you to the leadership team, staff, physicians, and nurses who work hard each day to provide compassionate health care to patients.

This is just one platform where I will be sharing updates on a weekly basis, but you can also connect with me and my administration on the platforms below:
And of course, I will be out and about across the city every week visiting with local businesses, meeting with constituents, and hearing from stakeholders in our city – so I hope I’ll be able to talk to you in person very soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!
