Exciting News from the Mayor's Office

  • The City of Stamford secures $2 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s RAISE Grant for the West Side. Read more here.
  • The Stamford Public School’s CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) has been approved by the state. That’s great news for you and your children, as it allows Stamford Public Schools to provide free healthy breakfast and lunch at school to all students during the 2022-23 school year! 
    • Parents do not have to pay anything or fill out any forms, nor do parents need to send children to school early for breakfast. Breakfast will be part of the school day. Parents do not have to do anything
  • Mayor Simmons and the City of Stamford welcomes seven new businesses: Whole Foods, Puerto Vallarta, Panera, New York Comedy Club, Saks Off 5th, Starbucks, Todd English, and Stifel. Click here for more information on Stifel and other businesses.
  • The City of Stamford secured a $2 million dredging grant for Stamford marinas from the Port Authority.
  • Stamford conducted a $40 million bond sale and is the only city in Connecticut with over 100,000 residents to receive a AAA credit rating.
  • Stamford Restaurant Week continues through this this upcoming weekend (August 28th). For more information, click here.

     

    Important Information for Stamford Residents

  • The next Board of Assessment Appeals for motor vehicle will be held on September 12, 2022. Application deadline is September 7, 2022. Click here for more information.
  • Tax bills have been released, view the notice here.
  • Stamford households can order a maximum of 16 at-home COVID-19 test kits. Orders can be placed here. For further details, click here.

     

    Paving

  • This year, the City of Stamford has announced “Pave Stamford,” initiative that seeks to double the amount of road paving and sidewalk restoration done during this budget cycle. Click here to view the Tier 1 paving list.
  • Residents can submit road paving suggestions for the Tier 2 list of the Pave Stamford initiative here.

COVID-19 Updates

Case Numbers

Follow the City of Stamford’s Covid-19 Dashboard, which provides the latest up-to-date
information on COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates in the City.

Vaccination Sites

  • Friday, August 26th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Scalzi Park will be open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Jackie Robinson Park site will be open from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. The Henry Street vaccination clinic is open from 8:30 am to 2:45 pm. The Cove Island Park vaccine tent will be open from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm.

  • Saturday, August 27th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Westover School will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Scalzi Park site will be open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Jackie Robinson Park site will be open from 11:30am to 5:30 pm, and the Lione Park site will be open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Cove Island vaccine tent will be open from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. The West Beach site will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

  • Sunday, August 28th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Jackie Robinson Park will be open from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. The Cove Island Park vaccine tent will be open from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. The West Beach Vaccine tent will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Scalzi Park clinic will be open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Next week, 8/29– 9/1 vaccines are available at the following locations free without an appointment:

  • All Ages
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Monday - Thursday 8:30 am to 2:45 pm
  • Scalzi Park: Monday - Thursday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Cove Island: Monday -Thursday 10:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • Jackie Robinson Park: Monday - Wednesday 11:30 am to 5:30 pm

 

  • 1st and 2nd doses are available to all, as well as booster shots for ages 5+ (Pfizer) and 18+ (Moderna/J&J) at all walk up vaccination clinics.

Covid-19 Testing Sites

  • St. Mary’s Church (566 Elm St) testing site will be open at the following times:
  • Monday - Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Accu Reference (689 Canal St) testing site will be open at the following times:
  • Monday - Friday: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Other Resources

  • If you are unable to leave your home or are uncomfortable traveling to a vaccine site, the Stamford Department of Health will bring the vaccine to you. Please call 203-977-4378 or 203-977-4369 to schedule your free in-home COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

 

City Services

  • The Take it Or Leave it Shop & the Book Swap Shop at Katrina Mygatt are now open:
  • The Take It or Leave It Shop is open on Tuesday & Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • The Book Swap is open on Tuesday & Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • The Scofield Special Collection (55 Rock Rimmon Rd) will be held from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on September 10th, and October 1st
