News from the Mayor's Office

  • In case you missed it, you can read Mayor Simmons recent op-ed: “When it comes to housing, Stamford can’t afford to do nothinghere.

     

  • The Stamford Public School’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) has been approved by the state. That allows Stamford Public Schools to provide free healthy breakfast and lunch at school to all students during the 2022-23 school year! Breakfast will be part of the school day - parents do not have to fill any forms, pay for anything, nor send the children early to school.

     

  • The City of Stamford has been awarded a $3.3 million Small Harbor Improvement Projects (SHIPP) grant. The SHIPP Grant will go towards the completion of the 2015 Cummings Park and West Beach Master Plan. This includes:
    • Dredging of the Cove marina and channel
    • Final design and permitting for the Cummings marina
    • Feasibility study for an additional City boat ramp in Stamford Harbor

       

      Important Information for Stamford Residents

  • The next Board of Assessment Appeals for motor vehicle will be held on September 12, 2022. Click here for more information.

 

Paving

 

  • This year, the City of Stamford has announced “Pave Stamford,” initiative that seeks to double the amount of road paving and sidewalk restoration done during this budget cycle. Click here to view the Tier 1 paving list.
  • Residents can submit road paving suggestions for the Tier 2 list of the Pave Stamford initiative here.

COVID-19 Updates

Case Numbers

Follow the City of Stamford’s Covid-19 Dashboard, which provides the latest up-to-date
information on COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates in the City.

Vaccination Sites

  • Friday, September 9th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Scalzi Park will be open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Henry Street vaccination clinic is open from 8:30 am to 2:45 pm.

  • Saturday, September 10th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Westover School will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Scalzi Park site will be open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

  • Sunday, September 11th, 2022:

The vaccination site at Cove Park will be open from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. The Jackie Robinson Park event will be open from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm

Next week, 9/12– 9/15 vaccines are available at the following locations free without an appointment:

  • All Ages
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Monday - Thursday 8:30 am to 2:45 pm
  • Scalzi Park: Monday - Thursday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Roxbury School: Tuesday 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Stillmeadow School: Wednesday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

 

  • 1st and 2nd doses are available to all, as well as booster shots for ages 5+ (Pfizer) and 18+ (Moderna/J&J) at all walk up vaccination clinics.

Covid-19 Testing Sites

  • St. Mary’s Church (566 Elm St) testing site will be open at the following times:
  • Monday - Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Accu Reference (689 Canal St) testing site will be open at the following times:
    • Monday - Friday: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
    • Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Other Resources

  • If you are unable to leave your home or are uncomfortable traveling to a vaccine site, the Stamford Department of Health will bring the vaccine to you.
    • Please call 203-977-4378 or 203-977-4369 to schedule your free in-home COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
  • All information about Stamford's response to COVID-19 can be found on our website at www.stamfordct.gov/covid19.

  • Please visit the State of Connecticut's Vaccine Portal for information on how to request a new copy of your card. 

     

    City Services

  • The Take it Or Leave it Shop & the Book Swap Shop at Katrina Mygatt are now open:

  • The Take It or Leave It Shop is open on Tuesday & Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • The Book Swap Shop is open on Tuesday & Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • The Scofield Special Collection (55 Rock Rimmon Rd) will be held from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on September 10th, and October 1st

  • A Community Conversation with Robert Livingston (Harvard University Social Psychologist and Author of The Conversation) on Monday, October 3 at 6 p.m. You can register here.
