Pacific Street Grant

Excited to announce that the City of Stamford is one of six municipalities in Connecticut to receive state funding through the Transit-Oriented Development Grant Program!

The City received $563,212 for the Pacific Street Village Pedestrian Safety and Access Project, which will create a holistic complete street by adding a new raised crosswalk and intersection, as well as several bump outs to slow traffic, increase pedestrian safety, and expand sidewalk space; new street trees and bioswales for stormwater management; and pedestrian-level lighting to improve safety at night.

The grant program provides grants for shovel-ready capital projects located within one-half mile of existing public transportation facilities and promotes the development of infrastructure with the goal of creating walkable, mixed-use spaces that support vibrant, sustainable, and equitable communities.

Stamford Museum and Nature Center Planetarium and Astronomy Center

Imagetele

Thrilled to join staff and leadership from the Stamford Museum & Nature Center for the transfer of the Gregory-Maksutov telescope, which will go to New Mexico for maintenance in preparation for the new Planetarium and Astronomy Center at the SMNC.

The Astronomy Center will be an incredible educational resource to students and a spectacular attraction for families not just in the state, but in our region.

This project is a wonderful example of what can happen when support and funding is coordinated and championed at the local and state level and I want to thank our state delegation for their advocacy which helped the City receive state bonding which will go toward this project.

This is just one platform where I will be sharing updates on a weekly basis, but you can also connect with me and my administration on the platforms below:
And of course, I will be out and about across the city every week visiting with local businesses, meeting with constituents, and hearing from stakeholders in our city – so I hope I’ll be able to talk to you in person very soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!
