STAMFORD, CT – Today, Mayor Caroline Simmons announced the opening of the new Stamford Veterans Resource Center, located at the City of Stamford Old Town Hall. She was joined by State Representative Matt Blumenthal, State Representative Hubert Delany, Reverend Winton Hill, members of the Stamford Police Department and Fire Department, community advocates, and veterans organizations.

“For many years, I have heard about the need for greater engagement and support services for Stamford’s veteran community and this Veterans Resource Center is a way to honor these brave men and women who have fought and given so much to protect our country,” said Mayor Caroline Simmons. “The Veterans Resource Center is a place where veterans will have better access to government resources, programs, and community support services, as well as the opportunity to engage with other veterans and community partners in Stamford.”

“To honor the service of our veterans, we must ensure they have the resources they need to succeed out of uniform,” said State Representative Matt Blumenthal. “The opening of the Veterans Resource Center in Stamford is a great opportunity to give back to those who have sacrificed so much for us, and a display of Stamford's commitment to our military veterans.”

“This is fantastic news for our veterans and their loved ones,” said State Representative Hubert Delany. “The creation of a stand-alone resource center ensures that veterans in Stamford and the surrounding area will have all the resources they need at their fingertips. This is our chance to serve those who have given everything to serve us.”

“We are so excited to partner with the veteran community to launch this initiative,” said Carmen Hughes, the City of Stamford Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.

The Stamford Veterans Resource Center will be open weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. It is located on the second floor of the Old Town Hall at 175 Atlantic Street.
