The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM EST SATURDAY

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 3 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts up to near 6 inches on higher elevations, especially within Orange County NY near and northwest of Interstate 84 as well as the higher terrain of Western Passaic NJ.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

In addition, a storm system early next week has the potential to bring significant snowfall accumulations.
