Your City at Work: From the Mayor’s Desk

Read below to learn more about what my administration is working on each day to deliver for you, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

MAYOR’S UPDATES

  • Last week, I was honored to give the State of the City address to share more about what my administration has accomplished in the last 16 months and why Stamford is a strong and vibrant community. To watch the full speech head over to my Facebook page or click here.

  • This week, we lost former Representative Susan Nabel, and we are all heartbroken by the loss. Susan embodied what it meant to be a true public servant. She led with compassion, thoughtfulness, and was a fierce advocate for her constituents and her community. Her leadership on the Board of Representatives, as well as the Board of Education, resulted in critical investments in Stamford’s public services, parks, and schools.

Her contributions are many and during her tenure, she touched the lives of countless residents across Stamford. I will miss Susan dearly, and I am comforted to know she leaves behind a legacy of extraordinary public service and contribution to our City, one that we will be forever grateful for. My thoughts are with her husband Bill, their children Jake and Hannah, and all her family and friends during this difficult time.

  • On Monday, I was honored to welcome the Veterans & Athletes United Fallen Heroes Memorial Dog Tag Flag to Veterans Memorial Park. This monument represents the more than 7,000 fallen veterans who died defending our country in the Global War on Terror. They are sons and daughters, brothers, and sisters. They represent and embody the values we should all strive to inhabit - honor, courage, and selflessness. Their actions in duty ensure that our families get to live in a free nation, one that is a beacon of liberty, democracy, and justice for the world. Visit until May 13th, and to learn more click here.

  • You are invited to join me for the Mayor’s Climate Council Public Forum on May 20th, from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM at the Government Center to share ideas on climate action here in Stamford.
