Your City at Work: From the Mayor’s Desk

Read below to learn more about what my administration is working on each day to deliver for you, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

MAYOR’S UPDATES

Weekly Local Business Spotlight: Accurate Tool & Die Inc

Each week I will highlight one of our incredible small businesses that received one of the 176 Stamford COVID-19 relief grants.

Accurate Tool & Die Inc., is a Stamford-based regional leader in the manufacturing business that serves the utilities, aerospace, architectural hardware, audio, pharmaceutical, packaging, machine building, and power equipment industries. Some of their staff have been with the company for over 35 years and they take pride in their commitment to excellence and use of cutting-edge technology to collaborate with their clients to meet their manufacturing needs.

Community Non-Profit Spotlight: Hubbard Heights Association

Each week I will highlight an invaluable local initiative that received one of the 21 Mayor’s Micro-Grants.

  • Mission: The Hubbard Heights Association (HHA) is a neighborhood association comprised of residents in the Hubbard Heights community.
  • Project Funding Purpose: Funding was awarded to repair neighborhood planter pillars.

  • Small Business Visits: In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, I visited Doggie Do Dog Grooming and Casa Villa Restaurant. These small businesses are two of the 34 Hispanic owned businesses who were recipients of the City of Stamford’s COVID-19 Relief Grant. Ensuring small businesses have the support and resources they need to thrive continues to be one of my administration’s main priorities.
