Your City at Work: From the Mayor’s Desk

Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

MAYOR’S UPDATES

  • I-95 Update: In response to the damage caused to I-95 in Norwalk due to a tanker truck crash yesterday, Governor Lamont declared a state of emergency which will help expedite some of the resources needed to address the bridge’s replacement. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has advised commuters to expect delays to this area of I-95 in Norwalk and that this area will be closed at-least through the weekend as the bridge is demolished and the road is both milled and paved. If you have travel plans this weekend or will be in the area, read more here.

  • CEO Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence: I joined CEO Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence to discuss how the public and private sectors are approaching artificial intelligence. The event was hosted by the Stamford Partnership and McKinsey and Co. along with CEO’s from Sikorsky, GE Appliances, Pratt and Whitney, Tomo, JANUS Associates, Enveritas, AXA, Stamford Health, Synchrony, and Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.

  • State of the City: Last week, I gave my State of the City address to the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. I highlighted the progress we’ve made over the past three years on infrastructure projects such as the new parking garage at the Stamford Train Station, the $17 million federal grant to connect the West Side and Downtown, and our long-term school’s facility plan. As we wrap up our work on this upcoming year’s budget, we will continue to focus on making Stamford a more affordable and equitable place to live, work, and thrive.
