From the Mayor's Desk

Each day that I’ve been in office, I am reminded of what a privilege it is to serve the people of Stamford alongside so many dedicated city employees. In the first month of the New Year, my team and I have started implementing recommendations from the ten transition committees to meet our 100 Day prioritizes, finalizing my cabinet, and continuing the fight and improving our COVID-19 response.

Below are a few of the priorities we focused on in the past week:

COVID-19 Response

Protecting the health and safety of our community and responding to COVID-19 is my top priority
  • Although we’ve started to see COVID-19 numbers trend in the right direction this past week, please continue to wear your mask, get your booster shot, and get tested if you have symptoms to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.
  • On Sunday, January 16, the City of Stamford hosted a mask giveaway event at Rippowam Middle School. 25,000 N95 and KN95 masks were given out to Stamford residents.
  • The next COVID-19 live stream will be on Tuesday, February 1st at 6:00 pm. Residents can watch at stamfordct.gov/livestream or on the city’s Facebook page.

Citizen Service Hub

Thank you to everyone who came to our Citizen Service Hub at Jackie Robinson Park and the Stamford Diner! It was great speaking with residents about the issues that matter most to them and discussing ways we can continue to improve our community.

As we approach the end of January, I’m excited to continue working towards our 100 day goals focused around the issues my transition team policy committees identified as critical for our city. I will continue sharing brief updates each week so you can hear how your local government is serving you, key developments that will impact residents and how our city operates, critical announcements in the fight against COVID-19 and our efforts to ensure we recover in a responsible and sustainable way. This is just one platform where I will be sharing updates on a weekly basis, but you can also connect with me and my administration on the platforms below:

And of course, I will be out and about across the city every week visiting with local businesses, meeting with constituents, and hearing from stakeholders in our city – so I hope I’ll be able to talk to you in person very soon.
