UPDATED: City-Wide Storm Debris Pickup Postponed; Will Now Start March 26th

Post Date:03/19/2018 12:00 PM

STAMFORD, CT – Mayor David Martin and Director of Operations Ernie Orgera today announced an updated start date for the city-wide storm debris pickup. Due to a nor’easter expected to hit our region mid-week next week (the fourth in a month), the pickup will now begin on Monday, March 26th. Other than the start date, the rest of the pickup details remain the same, with a crew starting in North Stamford working south, and a second crew starting in the southern part of the city, working north.

Residents should put storm-related debris curbside and not in the road, and if possible, parallel to the road for easier pickup. Crews will not be picking up debris from private property and will not pick up other debris. Equipment used by Operations crews can handle tree debris up to 6 feet in length and there is no limit on circumference.

There will only be one sweep for storm-related debris so to ensure the debris is collected, resident should have debris curbside by the 26th.
