Sandy Dennies Named Interim Director of Administration

Mayor David Martin announced today that he is naming Sandy Dennies as Stamford’s Interim Director of Administration. This appointment comes after this week’s announcement that current Director of Administration Michael Handler would retire. Ms. Dennies was Stamford’s Director of Administration under Mayor Dannel Malloy from 2007 – 2009. She will start on Monday, March 2^nd.

“I am excited that Sandy is returning to work for the city as she is a proven professional” said Mayor David Martin. “She is returning to us with valuable institutional knowledge of Stamford’s, as well as other Fairfield County municipalities’, finances. This background will be instrumental in maintaining continuity as we enter budget season”

After leaving Stamford in 2009, Ms. Dennies went on to manage the town finances for both Wilton and most recently New Canaan. Prior to being named Director under Mayor Malloy, she served as the Grants Manager for the City.
